Diet is one of the more complex steps on our path to vibrant health. We really need expert help with this critical step.
Diet has a few definitions. Two nouns and a verb. Most people think being “on a diet” is when you change your eating habits to achieve a certain goal such as weight, allergy or diabetes. The general definition of diet is the kind of foods that a person habitually eats. The best and in some ways the worst example is the Standard American Diet that is sometimes referred to as the SAD diet. There is an old saying “garbage in, garbage out.” It applies to computer programming, and it applies to diet. Another applicable saying is “what you eat is what you are.” Your body only has what you supply to maintain your level of health. It is always replacing worn out and defective cells in your body with new ones. It only has what you supply in nutrients. If there are missing or insufficient nutrients the result is less than fully functional cells in your organs.
Here is an example of the verb form: “it is difficult to diet.”
And it is difficult to diet. Medical studies around the world are constantly trying to determine what foods are beneficial and what foods are harmful in achieving abundant health and longevity. A combination of periodic personal health testing and consultation with a good doctor and health coach will go a long way towards achieving a healthy life experience with longevity.
